Passenger Door Panel Blemish
My GS has always had this small less than a dime size circular blemish on the black passenger door panel, about midway from front to back, and near the top by the window. It's very strange in that most of the time I can't see it. But if the sun shines on the panel, I can definitely see a small circular blemish. I can't feel the blemish, but maybe it feels like a slightly firmer surface, as if something underneath was pushing up on the panel.
Anyway, I had the car at the dealer today and of course they couldn't see the blemish under the service lights. When I picked up the car they said the service manager saw the blemish and said all GS's have it. I never saw it on any GS other than mine, but then again the sun has to hit it just right and then it's plain as day. I didn't have time to look at other GSs on the lot, but maybe you've seen something like this? Thanks.

Same exact problem as you. However, I had 2 blemishes on that panel (front passenger side). The other panels are fine. I actually went into the dealership with another problem, and the service manager noticed the blemishes and offered to replace the panel under warranty.

This is an update to my original post. I've pursed this again with m dealer and they're offering to replace the door panel with a panel of my choice from one of their cars. The dealer explained that he's seen similar blemishes or protrusions on the door panels of the cars in their inventory. He's leaving it up to me to decide if there's a panel I would like better than mine. After I see what they have, maybe I'll leave well enough alone.
So apparently it is "normal" to have some surface imperfections on the door panels. Consider yourself lucky if you haven't found any.

I don' t know what to tell you other than I don't think that would bother me much; heck, I'm not sure if I would even notice it in the first place, and I'm pretty observant. But at the same time if Lexus considers that 'normal' then that's pretty odd of them IMO.

This is an update on my original post. After the Lexus dealer showed me two other 3GS's that also had irregularities in the upper door panel, I decided to leave well enough alone. It really was amazing to look at the panels at just the right angle to see hills and valleys in several locations. The dealer would have swapped my panel with a a panel from a car they had on the lot if I had wanted them to.
