No light in my console! Unless you count the overhead LED. The only front footwell lighting I can find is actually built into the front doors. It shines into the footwell when you open the door. It sucks!

No light in the back of your console? I do...
I haven't driven my car much at night, so haven't noticed the lights in the footwell. Will check it out next time I get into my car at night.
Also, we have a Toyota Sequoia that my wife drives. The interior lighting is poor on that vehicle as well. Poor lighting seems to be synonomous with Toyota/Lexus.

When driving in the evening, the LEDs should produce a light blue hue in the footwell area (along with the LED from the overhead console). Not bright enough to be distracting, but looks very nice.
I just re-read your post and wondered if you meant whether there are lights bright enough to really illuminate the footwell. If so, I think the answer is no. The LEDs, while looking nice, are not really bright.

i think we all want the metal footwell or step or whatever it's called to light up. i know some vehicles have that area light up. it would be nice if the lexus name and logo in the steel lit up.

I wasn't referring to the door sills, but the interior foot wells (where your feet set while you are in the car). I just looked at my manual (page 100) and it shows a picture of all the lights in the car and it shows the footwell lights. The brochure says they illuminate to guide your feet into the car at night. Mine don't work!

Foot wells SHOULD lighten up...
If it isn't up, it could be that your instrument panel light settings are set to MAX Low, in which case the interior lights won't fully activate. Similarly, if the instrument panel is set to MAX High, the NAVI screen will not switch to night mode.
This happened before, one GS owner even took his new car to the dealership to figure out why the interior lights did not work.
