Question Does someone know how to enable the phone keypad while driving

I found a few posts about the DVD nav being operated while driving.....but none on the phone. On a GS300 w/o NAV and ML, the main functionality that disappears while cars in motion is the phone dial pad as well as the ability to look thru the phone book. I am sure it is speed sensitive as having the car in drive makes no difference, because when at a light or in slow traffic the pad appears while car is briefly stopped and still in gear. That reminds me there is a Message button for FM broadcasts that also disappears when in motion, how does the audio know the car is in motion?? Has anyone disabled this without a big hassle? Thanks

I dont think it is the same issue, the DVD system seems more intricate and require a bigger number of mods I think, has anyone done this on a non Nav system????

I am convinced disabling the speed sensor wire alone will do the trick, anyone try it yet??

The Multi Display has a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sense) wire going into and then out to the Navigation brain (if equipped). In your case, w/o Navi, you need to disconnect the VSS wire going into the back of the Multi Display. If originally, it requires you to engage your parking brake also, you must locate the parking brake wire that leads into the display and chassis ground it.

And yes, Ex996 should know. His vehicle had this procedure performed.
