Sorry if I've ruffled some feathers, but this is JMO. Bigger is not always better.

don't worry man, i know you are NOT the ONLY one

Even if 22's are a bit over the top, it shows why Lexus should forget the 17s they put on the GS300 and at least offer an optional staggered 19 or 20!!!!!

I'm interested to see what 22's looks like on the 3GS when Lexus launches in Japan, and all the VIP body kits for the car roll into production. With a kit.... I think the 22's will go fine.

Is anyone else beginning to get a little tired of the big wheel trend? I'll be honest, I do like the look (most of the time), but I think it's getting a little out of hand. Most family sedans now ride on 17" rims and most luxury, sports cars and SUVS are 18-20" and this is from the factory (OEM). I just think it has gotten to the point where you notice the wheels more than the rest of the car.

Anyway....I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I'm used to that. I personally think the OEM 18" wheels on the GS430 look damn near perfect and can't seeing ever going above 19" or 20" on this car, but that's just me.

Henry, are you sure its only two inches more than spec? I'm thinking it might even be 3 inches over spec. I run 245/40 on 18" X 8.5" rims. That means that 245/30's would be appropriate for 19" rims. He is running on 22 (maybe running is not a good term, perhaps this car only sits on those tires and doesn't run anywhere). With tire diameter 3 inches over spec perhaps thats why the 4 X 4 effect is gone. To me, the proportion of wheel to body is wrong. This does not look natural or appropriate. Bad aesthetics.

It is "only" 2". On 19s, 245/35 will keep you within OEM spec.
