Talking UPDATE! w/TINT My GS300 with 18" chrome Alessio Wheels

...ok now since my initial excitement of buying the new GShas dithered down a "little" bit and I have driven the car 1000 miles (we went to Tuscon from Socal over the weekend) i can actually give my impressions on the car and post some pix. I an NOT a car specialist or anything so my opinions are just general opinions.

First of all, I will be biased becuase i am a huge Lexus fan and also I have 99 Blk GS300. I was critical of the new design first and like others called it a maxima/altima/accord clone. But after its NAIAS intro more pix trickled in and after the LA auto show i said to my buddy then and there..."im gettin it" BUT again i changed my mind becuse i wanted to get a suv to complete the sedan/suv set in my house. Well my the wife loved te new design more than i did and after test driving the 530 (which was our 2nd choice) just fell in love with the car. And now its parked in my drive way next to my 99 BLK GS300.

We bought:
06 GS300 RWD
Mercury Mettalic
ML/NAV option w/park assist
ALL the bells and whisels
which included Bluetooth for my Blackberry
and upgraded the wheels to Alessio 18" with 245/ZR40/18(2nd guessing myself now ) chrome wheels

The trip to AZ was fantastic. Got TONS of looks and comments and the car ran perfectly awsome. Passing slow cars on I10 was a breeze. Great pickup no problem. The car still "wobbles" a little on turns but less than the old GS. NAV worked great and advised us ahead of time with info about food and gas. Blue tooth needs some tweaking. Whenever i got a a call ppl complained that they could not hear me and alot of echo was present. I gotta check the tire pressure because the ride sometimes felt a litlle bumpy while we were even on a plain road.

The car is brand new and the engine was not broken in so the fasteset i went was 100 ( it was to my surprise because the acceleration is so creamy smooth that i thought i was going 70 )

Oh the BLUE LED's all around the car are just beautiful. The ambient feeling in this car i have not seen in any other car i know and have driven. I love the look on ppls face when i start the car with the push button. I am sure I am missing something but this post is already getting longer than my 2-3 liner posts--cuz there is tooooo much to list--All and all i have made the best purchase of my life after my house offcourse . TO all naysayers, i could have gotten the M or the 5 but we commute and i wont be going more than 80-90 (if that) on the 91,10,or the 15. I am not racing anyone or intend to. I 'll take my 245 hp V6 engine with quick and smooth as silk acceleration and all the gadgets i can ask for in a gorgeous, muscular and exquisite car especially all bundled up behind the "L" sign......

sorry the post went too long...i dont usually do this.

here are the pix....(I went with 18" Chrome Alessio wheels with 245/ZR40/18 wheels all around----I am 2nd guessing myself that i should have went bigger )...would appreciate the comments. and the TINT and spoiler coming very soon!

Very hot rims. I love them. They are now becoming somewhat popular on Maxima's too. Lookin good, keep up the good work.

These are dealer installed rims. On my invoice it stated that the tire pressuring system was "transferred" or "configured" from my stocks to the Alessio's.

Here is another pix of the front comparing to my old GS

Default 18 wheels

How does your car ride with 18" wheels? I am going to upgrade from my 16" to either 17 or 18" and am concerned about changing the smoothness of the ride.
Thanks for any input you may have.
Candice
