2006 GS DVD Override
Does anyone know someone in CA they trust to override the DVD and possibly add two headrest monitors?
The system should be the same as the past to override, but getting to it is completely different and I don't want some hack.
Headrest monitors look to be really easy without having a full headrest. The backing is a cover that is removeable.

It's Done!
I do not have step by step instructions.
Apperently it is similar to years past. The guy who did it look at the screen and checked a few things and said no problem.
We are bringing back next week to have two headrest monitors added.
If anyone is really interested I can post more information. ie pics and where to go.

Look no further DIY'ers!
I just finished overriding my DVD in my 2005 RX330. I have the wire colors needed to bypass for most all lexus' with NAV systems. Just write me. Sorry, I am too busy to help myself, besides, I probably leave too far away for most of everyone.

There are two bypasses and its important to get them both clear.
In my GX470 there were two wires for the DVD Bypass, and a separate one for the destination and Nav buttons enabling. The Nav Buttons Enabling while driving required a switch to be wired because you can not leave the circuit OPEN always. If you do, the vehicle will not travel through the maps. So basically you turn the switch, enter your destination and then turn the switch back to continue normally.
- A bypass to enable DVD's to be displayed while the vehicle is in motion.
- A bypass to put destinations in while driving.

Watch DVD's while driving? isn't that a bit silly as well as being illegal? Are you sure you want to assume that liability for this?
Maybe I'm out of the loop, but it makes no sense to me... it seems as though by hacking the system, you are only asking for trouble.

That is assuming the driver is operating the system and driving, but if you have a co-pilot, then they can operate the system and benefit from the DVD video .
