Default DVD question

I know that DVDs will only play while in park mode. Is the video simply off and you can still hear the audio? Or is everything shut down while driving?

Also, how does the player handle MP3s recorded on a CD-R? Do you get a track listing/song listing? Can you burn a disc with 200 songs and play them on this system?

Thanks! Can't wait to get my new GS!

Default DVD player rules

I experimented a little with the DVD. The picture only is visible when your parking brake is on. I tried moving it to drive and creeping with a little parking brake on and it still worked until about 4 miles an hour and it just switches the screen to the trip info screen . It continues to play the audio track just no video.
I have to remember to borrow one of my son's MP3 discs to check that out tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me.

Was there an over-ride for the prior generation DVD system? Was it simply a software based thing, or did it require rewiring?

Thanks!

It was a rewiring to make the DVD play while the car was out of P.

The sound quality is amazing on the Mark Levinson. It's like a little surround sound system in your car!
