I had that experience in my previous 98 GS, no biggie though, just turn off A/C and let the outside air flow through your car couples days for 1~2 weeks, it'll go away.

you were very specific in your details, hehe. The smell is coming from mildew/mold which have settled in the vents due to condensation. My solution to that (again..this is what I do, which might not be the best way of doing it) is to go get some LYSOL spray ANTIBACTERIAL turn on your car, turn the vents on high, go to the outside of your car, and at the bottom of the winsheild you will see some vents where the car draws in air, this is where you will spray the LYSOL and VOILA! now you have semi-cleaned lemon scented vents!
This is just a trick some people do, it is in no way a means of cleaning out your vents thoroughly, you can go to the dealer to do that.

ya it si just a regular filter you would put in your house or apt but you have to cut it down to size to fit in your car. it will cost you no more then 10 bucks, the dealr will cost 65. thanks

I had this very same problem, there is actually a post for this! What I did was just let the air flow through the car for like 2 weeks and it went away, lysol wouldn't hurt either maybe it will go away faster with lysol. Changing the a/c filter wont do anything about the smell ur getting, and also dont even waste time or money going to the dealer for this its just condensation build up from ac use over the summer.
