Question Compatible 6 Speed Transmission Help?!? New Driver and Lexus Owner

Hey everyone. My name is Alex.I'm 19. I'm new to CL. I just started driving a few months ago. I bought my 1999 Lexus GS400 from my older bro for 3000 like 3 months ago. I bought the car with a slipping tranny.I dont want to flush the tranny because that will cause it to slip more because my brother never did a tranny change so now the tranny fluid is too old. I wanted to know if there is a high quality, long lasting tranny that would fit both my stock 1UZ-FE V8 Engine and a 2JZ-GTE dual turbo engine that you would recommend. the most im willing to pay is 1000(not including the cost to put it in). I am planning on getting the 2JZ engine later this year. but I need to transmission now because my current one is getting worse!. Or do you guys just recommend using this tranny until its completely out and continue trying to save for both the tranny and 2jz at the same time? Any advice helps!

Your best bet is to get a cd009 transmission. Those are from 6 speed 350z/g35

thats an adapter for it to fit onto your gs400.

however if you get a 2jz later on you'll have to get a different adapter plate for the JZ to CD009 transmission like this

Very helpful information. And Yeah. This is something I want to keep for a long time then eventually hand it off to my son. I'll definitely look into that tranny. thank you!
