Default 2003 Lexus GS300 loss of power vsc light check light

I recently purchased a 2003 Lexus gs300 and I had a used 65k miles 2jz put in it as well as tranny. The check engine light came on for catalytic converter. When driving the car it has no power at take off but once it gets into 2nd gear it seems to be fine. The vsc light is on as well and I read on another thread that a guy with a 98 gs300 replaced the throttle control motor and it fixed it. Would this work on mine as well??

You rather should do a readout of the fault instead of replacing parts that propably work. so, read a bit about how to blink out the vsc system.

I am having the same problem. I have a 2003 GS300 with 160k miles. I washed and waxed it Sunday and took it for a spin after and within two miles after leaving my house my Check Engine light came on alone with VSC and VSC off. I went yesterday to Advanced and got them to pull codes until I could get it to my normal mechanic and it showed the following codes:
C0246
C0256
C1223
C1201
P0430
I called my mechanic this morning to see if I could run it by to him this afternoon and see what he thought about the codes. He said that more than likely it was all a result of the P0430 CAT System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank2. Said it could be the CAT gone bad or maybe just an O2 Sensor.
Has anyone experienced this or have any input. It would be greatly appreciated!

I resolved my issue by taking my 2000 gs300 to my Lexus mechanic (non-dealer) and it was an Accelerator Position Sensor that caused the lack of power and acceleration. He replaced it to the tune of $534. The sensor cost $500.

Likely an exhuast leak for P0430, all the rest are ABS related code. Which could be caused by a bad alternator or battery.

The APPS costs $350 or less and is shared among many Lexus vehicles with ETCS-V from the same era.
$534 is a bit excessive to be honest. That's Dealer pricing.

The one he had in stock didn't fit my gs300, so he had to order it from the dealer.
I called the local Lexus here in Tampa and verified that one APPS cost $521 and the other cost $529. So I had to eat that price. But I am way ahead of the game. No car payments and this gs300 is the smoothest ride out all the lexuses I have leased or owned.
I am in a position now where I have to get it repaired. I have leased a 2013 gs350 luxury edition and a 2015 F-sport. I decided to use my 2000 gs300 until December 2018.
This forum has helped me to save money on door actuator locks by doing it myself. Save at least a $1000.
Thank you so much for your response. Now I know......

Well I have driven it about 15 miles since he cleared the code and it has not came back on again. I guess if I get time this weekend I will run it by a muffler shop and see if they can hear or notice a leak. I checked that the best I could and didn't hear anything. My mechanic told me to bring it back if the codes come back on and he will look deeper to make sure that's what it is. I was taking it yesterday but the light didn't come back on I figured there was no since in it bc he has no code to go by. When my mechanic ran the codes on his better machine than Auto parts stores the only code it showed was the P0430 which he insists is a bad cat that he said resulted from the ethanol in todays gas eating the combs inside CAT. Kind of hard for me to believe that it only took 160K miles for that to happen.
