I apologize in advance if this post sounds silly but do our cars need a crush washer when changing the oil?

Did some research and found this part number:

Just never had to replace this before on any of my older cars.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's not a crush washer, just a washer. I am still on my original washer, after dozens of oil changes, and no leaks. I do have a spare one sitting around, but have not had the need to use it so far.

Can't tell if its from the pan or the plug so I wanted to see if I should change it.

I guess it doesn't hurt since its less then a dollar anyway.
