I need help please. Car running funny.
Hey Guys,
My NA-T GS3 is running funny on idle. The rpm's will stay at about 1k and then drop down to 500 and then jump back to 1k and go back to 500 while in idle. I live in Oswego, Il. but I don't know of anyone in th he area who can help me diagnose what's going on. I guess what I'm asking is, are there any fellow Club Lexus members here in the area that can help me diagnose a problem with the car. I'm willing to help out, if you'll let me. I don't feel like paying a shop $120 an hour to diagnose the problem when I have my fellow Club Lexus members to help me out if possible. I can even bring the car to you if you like. Please help me out guys.
Thanks so much!!!

Check your hoses, too. Sometimes when I would drive for a while and come to a stop light the rpms would drop very low, like 400-500 rpm. Sometimes the car would shut off, but always start right back up. Turned out I had a cracked hose that was going bad for a while.
This link should give you an idea of where to look (keep in mind I have a '99 GS400)

like the above said, this can be some type of vacuum leak. The motor mounts can cause this also or the coils. I just had one of my coils replaced because it was misfiring and the RPMS were going up and down. Clean the throttle body, check the MAF, spark plugs, or for vacuum leaks, not much else it could be really.
