It will look unsightly and you will hear the cassette motor whirring.
Much much better to get an FM transmitter to tune into a spare radio frequency. Mines sits in the armrest box, is powered from the lighter socket and even has Bluetooth to connect wirelessly to my iPhone.
Not expensive and a good sound.

Thanks to mate01 for cuncurring. The only thing is that his suggestion, along with many other models are semi-rigid between the cigar lighter plug and the controller. This is not ideal for siting in the centre console.
The one I use is on Amazon.com. I can't seem to get the link to work but search under Westlink FM transmitter with Bluetooth.
