~Question ~

What's the correct part number for the 2000 gs300 charcoal canister? I've already looked on the forums and searched the internet and I guess that #77740-30311 is replacement OEM for #77740-30310. What I don't get is that on eBay, a seller has listed #77740-53011 as a factory replacement as well for the '00 while another listed that # for '01-'05; are these parts interchangeable or something? Don't all 2gs use the same part number? Stealership told me they don't and that #77740-30311 is the correct part for my '00.

From my access to Lexus and Toyota diagrams, 77740-30311, or 77740-30310 is correct for 1998-2001.

In 2002-2005 they changed the design to a completely different part number.

Now did you have your car tested with pressurized colored smoke to verify that this is a problem part or area that is leaking, and needs replacing? It's an expensive piece and doesn't look too easy to get to!

Hi thanks for replying, yes my mechanic tested it for me and I need to replace it. It's not a big deal, but I hate seeing the CEL on especially when I can have other serious problems going wrong as well (I don't right now, just the evap system). Okay, so they're right, but now I'm wondering if #77740-53011 will fit as well, (according to some ebay vendors it does) because if so, I can save myself a couple hundred dollars. Can you help me with that?

It is no problem! Unfortunately the 77740-53011 is for an IS300. It will not fit because the mounting tabs and other plumbing are not the same.
