Default GS300 revs low then dies, vsc & vsc off lights are on

Hello,

I've been searching around this site for answers to my problem here but none seems to fully apply to me.

Recently my vsc, vsc off, and abs lights turned on in my 99 gs300. When I come to a slightly quick stop, the engine will either rev low and die or will just completely go to 0 revs and die.

After researching on this site, I've switched out the MAF sensor with a used but tested OEM one and replaced my air filter and it's still happening.

The weird thing is, when I unplug the MAF sensor, everything works fine (besides not being able to go above 3000 rpm). With the sensor unplugged, the car never runs low on revs and has never died. Did I just get a bad sensor? I'm ordering a brand new aftermarket one but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. I know other threads have suggested other things like bad fuel injectors or a bad fuel pump but since the issue goes away when I unplug the MAF sensor, I'm thinking this isn't the case. Thanks in advance!

Did you unplug the battery for a few minutes so that the ECU can reset?

Just disconnected the negative terminal of the battery for a few minutes with the new sensor installed, reconnected, and drove around for about 20 minutes. Now the car seems to idle more rough with visible shaking and it still died out on me a couple times. Also, a new thing, when i give it gas initially from a stop it seems like i have a lot less power; I'll put my foot down 1/4 of the way and feel like it takes a lot longer to accelerate now. Another thing I've noticed is that when in park and idling, when my fans turn on, that's when the rough idle begins and eventually the car will stall out.

When you unplug the battery the ecu will relearn and tune to your driving style. needs to drive for about 30 minutes before it will fully learn.
Sounds like you just have a low idle, the fan turns on and draws lots of power creating a heavy load. What is your normal RPM at idle and with AC on? adjust your TPS the one on the front right of your throttle body to about 700-750 RPM in park and about 500-550 in drive.

OP,
Other think that you maybe need to do... Clean your throttle body. Perhaps it is dirty.

Found the issue. There was a big hole underneath my intake resonator tube, right where a vacuum line was. Taped it up and waiting for the new part, but the car runs good now
