Dashboard Sqeak 2nd Gen GS
Avid reader, first time poster!
I have a '03 GS300. Looking to see if anyone has had any luck locating and fixing the issue of interior dash squeaking? The sound can be best described as Styrofoam rubbing together coming from somewhere behind the dash. Colder weather and rough roads seem to be triggers. I know there are numerous posts on other gen GS', IS, RX forums, with mixed findings and solutions. I've tried the usual home remedies such as stuffing a rag between the dash and windshield, taking off the windshield wiper cowl, and checking for windshield clips rubbing, ect but either didn't work or weren't applicable. Love the car in and out, and with only 138,000km on it, it has the potential to last a long time.
Any suggestions/solutions appreciated.
Thanks!

Please post a video or sound clip, its the only way to properly diagnose this problem. We DO have the answer because I'm certain its happened to plenty of us in the last 18 years I can name a few things that it can be, but an actual sound will make it much easier to diagnose

Thanks for the reply Mr Jokster. Of course with +30C weather, the sound is not as prominent, but still evident. Colder morning the "styrofoam" sounds tend to appear. I have found some examples on youtube. There seems to be an error from my phone at the moment when I try to load an example recorded from my personal car but I can tell you on hotter days there is rattling going on behind the front vents, or lower windshield.
I seem to experience all the noises as follows:
and
Again, only occurs when the car is moving, over uneven pavement or turns. Any help/suggestions appreciated!

I would recommend having someone drive your car while you sit shotgun. Press on various panels in the areas the sound seems to be coming from and see what quiets it. Then you can tighten the part, fix a gap, apply felt tape, replace a clip, or whatever the appropriate solution is.
My dash has an annoying squeak sometimes as well. In my case, I think it is partly my glovebox, and partly the radio/hvac assembly vs. the main body of the dashboard.

I have sprays some silicone lubricant in between the dash and windshield. It has helped a tad bit. I am trying to access the inside of the dash via the front airvents above the radio/nav. Though the ML center speaker is there. Any recommendations on how to remove that? Theres one post, unfortunately the guy broke the clips in his scenario.
