What size tire on 19" rim?
Hey all,
I have a set of 19 x 7.5" with +35mm offset. Can anyone tell me what are the biggest tires I can put on these rims to use with my bone stock GS300 suspension?
Right now I'm considering 225/40/R19. If I could go with something bigger/more sidewall without it rubbing, I wouldn't mind it. I'd like to keep as much ride quality as possible.
Note: For those gasping at the audacity of 19" rims on a stock car: I plan to drop about an inch in the future, but for now I just need to get these on since my stock rims and tires are completely shot!
These are the rims for reference: 2010 RX350 19" wheels:
Thanks!

You could do 235/40-19. If you had wider wheels, 245/40 is doable as a chunky setup. It's "too big" as it's larger than the largest factory size by several mm, but it would fit since your wheel specs and intended drop are mild. I have 235/40-18 (correct size for the car) and can't say I have any complaints about ride quality. It's really not a big difference from stock.
Wouldn't have recommended 19" wheels in the first place, if you're so concerned about ride quality (since you could do a 245/40 on an 18 and stay within spec), but if you're set on that diameter, it's still doable.

Assuming your stock/oem tire size is 215/60-16, the calculator compares oem to the new specs you want to look at.
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
215/60-16 5.1in 13.1in 26.2in 82.2in 771 0.0%
225/40-19 3.5in 13.0in 26.1in 82.0in 773 -0.3%
225/35-19 3.1in 12.6in 25.2in 79.2in 800 -3.7%
235/35-19 3.2in 12.7in 25.5in 80.0in 792 -2.6%
235/40-19 3.7in 13.2in 26.4in 82.9in 764 0.9%
245/35-19 3.4in 12.9in 25.8in 80.9in 783 -1.6%
I got this from the following website.

It looks like you selected the best size to be as to close to oem specs but if you wanted to go with a wider tire and okay with a higher marginal difference then it'll let you know.
I'm running 245/35-19 no rubbing on my '02 GS430
