Default Help pls , Leaking near tranny and whining noise

hey all i recently noticed my car was leaking a black/purple fluid and its tranny fluid , however it only leaks after i drive. i have some images of the leak spots. i searched our forum and found 1 post but some of my symptoms arent listed , also when i give the car gas or when its in drive moving i sometimes hear a whining noise i put it in neutral and it goes away maybe its the TC? however i would jut like to clarify that its my TC and not the whole tranny because im a broke college student and i prefer DIY. thanks in advance . Images are where the trans and rear of engine meet

Steering rack&pinion; leaks from that could be from boots or P/S pump. Check your fluid, pump will whine when low on ATF fluid...

...if not

Check the type IV fluid level in the transmission...

I agree with FrankT. The power steering uses ATF fluid so you tend to think it's your tranny only. Whining noise happens from rack&pinion as you turn your steering wheel too.

Like FrankT said, check your dip stick for tranny for the level. If it's right, check ps fluid level and follow the pump to the rack&pinion.

Just wanted to add to what others have said...definitely check your P/S reservoir level...I just replaced the P/S high pressure line on my GS for the second time. Definitely get any P/S leaks fixed asap, because of the location it can take our your alternator.
