Has anyone ever been able to keep the footwell lights on, or connect them to when the exterior lights are on? My IS has lights in the same place that are on so when you're driving, the area is dimly lit and I was curious if the same could be done with the GS

Sure, just send power to that circuit independently. Grab a wiring diagram or trace the wires.

U probably need to cut one wire off each light and wire it to a wire that is active when headlights are on.
