Wait, you don't need to run a front plate but you're choosing put something on?

Correct, it will hide a bunch of scratches for me until I repaint the bumper after winter

You can use two-sided tape to mount a license plate very securely without putting holes in anything. I've done this on three previous cars and a scooter, no issues with either the plates coming off or the tape not coming off afterwards.

I really wish Ohio would stop requiring a front plate, it looks terrible on any car. Not to mention you can actually get pulled over for not having a front plate as the sole reason, so I don't mess around with putting one on but I hate it.

My car was originally sold/purchased in Ohio, then the owner got a winter home in Florida and registered and kept it there, so now I just have two screw holes that will be filled in when I get the bumper repainted.

A cheap thing that I did on my other car before I had its bumper repainted was buy a couple of smooth-capped interior plastic trim fasteners, paint the caps body colored, and jam them into the holes. It's slightly cleaner than having the holes there until you get the bumper repainted.
