Got a 1998 Lexus GS 300 and it's leaking when it rains from the spacer between and pillars and the headliner. Could it be because the rubber between the door and the frame of the car or from the rubber between the door and the window? Or maybe on the roof between the windshield and the frame?
Water drips down from there. Anyone know a quick fix while I wait on the part as well? Living in south Florida it rains alot and I don't want to get my seat ruined or the electronics.

Thanks Mcon, doesn't seem to be the sunroof, I poured water through the side of the window and that's when the pillar got soaking wet now does the piece that goes between the door come with the piece that goes around the window as well or are those two separate rubber pieces?

Weird, that is the spot that leaks when the sunroof drain tube gets detached. But if I'm reading your question correctly, the weatherstrip that surrounds the door jamb is available separately from the one on the window frame of the door.

My civic started leaking from a similar place after my windshield was replaced.

Take that pillar off. Have someone pour water from outside on the top of the windshield. My old gs had the same problem, I used some window silicone sealant on the outside and inside. It worked!

Gonna try that out Mistagill, do you know if i could pick that up from like a home depot or like an advanced auto parts store? Thanks!

Spray a hose on the sunroof and all areas on it for a good amount of time. Also try the windshield, the seal around the windshield could be bad as well.

No problem, you should be able to pick it up from anywhere. But I would try an auto parts store first.

See if you can get your hands on Some urethane it's what the factories use to seal your windows when the car is being made. It's much stronger than silicone.

I'll check, thanks ISF, after testing everywhere on the car, it's just were I thought, the rubber seal around the door has a small tear, so the water comes into the cabin, down the pillar, pass the tweeter enclosure down to the parking brake pedal.

Well looks like there's a leak from somewhere else too, cause my whole rear drivers side carpet has a pool of water sitting underneath and over the carpet. Now my car smells of mold. Anywhere else I could have a problem with the drains or anything?

Another thing is known to get clogged and that is the evap drain, the water will come out of the lower AV vents or on the front carpet.

Are you in South Florida. Found a latin supermarket and buy a clear vanilla. After the carpet is drier just a little be, put vanilla all over the carpet and 2 day later all the smell (mold) will disappear. Use only clear and not black vanilla please.
