Default Remote start options with factory key fob?

I heard luxlink had made a set for our cars that were plug and play but went out of business..
I work 12 hour shifts from 6pm to 6am and when i leave work im tired as hell and my car is freezing cold..

I had the luxlink system on my 2gs for like three years and pulled it off a year ago seemed like something happened to the brain stopping the car from starting even with the key. Sucks because I liked the way it operated with the factory key fob

Buy a Compustar 7200s. They can be configured to remote start with 3 pulses of the lock button on your factory FOB.

Sounds like it would be a very nice feature :/

I looked into compustar.. But it seems theres alot more that is needed to be bought to go along with it, i dont really care for an alarm as my alarm already works well. I just want remote start.. Do you have it hooked up on your vehicle?

Keep an eye out in the SC430 classifieds, I bought a new luxlink a couple years back, haven't installed it yet though. I double checked with them first and confirmed it would work for the GS.

It does work for the GS because that's the system I bought but he's saying that they went out of business. Mine went bad a year ago so their is no way to get help or repaired since they are no longer in business.

Well the compustar seems like a very good alternative for the price, i am just wondering what else is needed to make the 7200s work. Nyc80rick said he was having problems with his, and i also saw a bunch of other threads where people were having issues with theirs also... I would like to steer clear of the luxlink now that it is discontinued.

Not quite. All you need is a 7200s if you're using your OEM FOB, and it blows the other off-brand controller posted in this thread out of the water.

However, I wouldn't recommend it. The range will be limited to the stock FOB range, which is pretty bad. Instead, I purchased the Compustar Slice Jr. 1-button remote: http://www.compustar.com/product/rem...lice-jr-2-way/

It's very small and I can start the car from up to 2500 ft away.
