Default crankshaft bolt cannot loose, 8mm bolt broken

I start to change my 05 GS300 timing belt, I see there is no frame support, only ground can be used for holding tool. I DIY using 1/4x1x24" plus 12" as a "Y" shape like commercial camshaft holding tool. I don't use a flange because the angle seems odd - may be my fault.
When I went to HD I only see short bolts so I bought two 10.9 M8x45 bolts and nuts, I can't use nut to tighten the bolt well because the bolt is not long and the nut, after it pass the bar, is blocked by crankshaft pulley flange. The result is the bolt, may be slightly tilted, is broken, about 9-10mm is still in the pulley 8mm thread. The broken surface is also not flat, means even I took off the pulley to drill off the broken piece, the drill may have difficulty to stay in center of the hole.
Harbor 25" breaker bar is flex not rigid, I tried also 1/2 ratchet and torgue wrench, all with a 3-4' pipe, added liquid wrench yet no luck. If I remove the radiator the depth would be around 8", may fit an impact wrench, but my compressor is medium size, 2HP 10G. ld
I see sb using chain clamp to hold the pulley, not sure where to buy or I can use bicycle chain to make one.
BTW, the car is 97000 miles and belt looks ok from top, buy serpentile belt has cracks that I see a year ago.
So please help! Thanks!

You have to use this tool
http://www.tooltopia.com/schley-6430...aign=nextag_r1

If you don't you can just about forget about it.

Use a high quality 1/2 breaker bar inserted into the tool and wedged against the ground.

For turning the bolt, I used a 3/4" drive breaker bar with a big piece of metal...5' long or so. Make sure you get a 3/4" drive impact socket or the socket will break.

I went through a bunch of sockets before finalizing on what I am telling you here. I have done mine twice.

BTW...I do mine every 90K. I wouldn't wait any longer.

Too late for me, the broken bolt is inside the pulley. Even I remove the radiator the space is not deep enough for 3/4 impact wrench.

You need to get that bolt out and use the proper tool.

I used the 19" vise grip chain from AutoZone. Wrapped a piece of serpentine belt around the crank pulley, installed the chain and rested the vise grip handle on the power steering handle, using a "Snap on" breaker bar I popped the bolt loose with ease. You certainly ****ed up though. May I ask, why you didn't research what proper or alternate tool to use to remove?

Thanks for all helps. I did get the broken screw out, Tried the DIY tool: http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t17794_ds437639
the 1/4x1x24" flat bar bought from HD is very soft and becomes snake in 1" dimension.
I did read youtube video that using a chain wrench - seems to be a 300+ tool, I'll try again local autozone to how. Do you mean this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/291614399223?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82"on the power steering handle" by handle do you mean pulley? It'd be appreciated if you can post a photo or a drawing!
I also bough a like new aitcat 1150 using my 10G 4.5 compressor but it can't loose 150ftlbs bolt so I returned it.
After radiator remove the depth is 8 7/8" no big impact wrench can be used.

I don't know how to disconnect the ignition, I only see fuses named IGN fuse and Fuel pump. Can I just remove them?
