Good on you, yeah most the connections from ARS ecu are to the ABS ecu. The other connections are to 2 x resistors, ARS relay and to the yaw rate sensor. You should be ok if you follow the connection tables in the doc file.

The ABS ecu is located under the drivers side kick panel and the yaw rate sensor is located under the gear shift surround.

Hi mate,

I am hoping to get my VSC working but have found there is a bit of conflicting information out there to achieve this.

Some people are stating that if you install the JDM VSC ECU alone then the VSC will operate?

Just want to confirm that what you are saying is that there is pretty much no difference between the JDM and USD (AUD in my case) VSC ECU and that even if the JDM unit is installed it will still have no communication with ARS ECU and therefore no VSC?

Also VSC module is normally mounted in boot of JDM 161?

Don't mean to waste your time, just want to be sure before I start sourcing parts!

Hi Jimricard,
As far as i know, the Jap GS300 VSC/ABS ecu doesn't need to be changed to get VSC working again after doing the 2jzgte swap. I have installed the jap Aristo VSC/ABS ecu in there but it didn't work for me. From the research that I've done, the reason why I think it doesn't work is because the jap 2jzgte engine ecu is looking for the "ARS" ecu which was from the original setup in the Aristo but it cant find it and therefor disables VSC. (In the Aristo it was called TRAC I think)
So the key to getting the VSC working again is hooking the ARS ecu up with the appropriate wires to your system.
The VSC/ABS ecu is in the drivers side kick panel and the ARS ecu is in the boot (I have verified this) , bare in mind I have RHD version

Hi Super51fan,
It will be easier for you to try and find the plugs and then follow my doc file I uploaded for the connections. The other option is to find Toyota plug wires (or similar) which you can de-pin and then use them in place of the plugs (using heat shrink so they don't touch each other inside). The colours don't really matter, what matters is that you connect the same pin from the ARS ecu to the VSC ecu according to my doc file.
