Emession problem
NEED SOME HELP! I am having trouble passing emmisions in the state of georgia. I have no CEL at the moment. I did have a tranny solenoid code a few months back but it hasn't popped up again. So everything passes up until where they have the obd2 conector on. When they turn the key ,the cel doesn't pop up with every other light. When I crank and the ob2 conector is on it hesitates to start. When that happens the drive cycle restarts and the computer shows up as not ready. This is the second attempt to pass and the same thing has happend. Need some help I have a month to pass

100% agree with you. Also, check your battery. Specially ground cable or the ground connector on the battery. That creates many problems and bad cel ( check engine light ) signal in the ecu . Check also, a fuse inside the car on the left side of the driver ( kick panel left area, fuse box ) there is a 15A fuse that say Cigarette. If you see that fuse a little worn, change it with a new one. Please Keep us informed and good luck

Check the ECU ground and make sure it is properly connected. I think it grounds at the rear and front of the intake manifold. ECU ground wires are #9 and #17, they should be brown. Test them at the ECU for ground too.
Also, check the OBDII connectors ground. PIN# 4 is the ground. Same deal; chase it back and make sure its in good shape. It should ground at the same place as the ECU.
If the ground point is bad it can cause the ECU to fight for ground with whatever is plugged into the OBDII port.
As with all internet advice proceed at your own risk. ALSO check the battery as suggested by Mcon. This is the easiest and should be checked first.
