Default Subwoofer not working, amp on, sub not blown

So my volume control on my steering wheel got messed up for some wierd reason. I had it set to a very low volume and now whenever i press it,(preset) it goes to max volume. Yesterday while driving the car i pressed to button like i usually do when i pull up to the drive thru to lower the volume. The music turned itself up to max (scared the Shat outta me) and after leaving the drive thru i realized my subwoofer was not playing. I am working 4 12's this week so i dont have much time to look for the issue. The subwoofer is a 2011 rockford fosgate T1 and the amp is a alpine MRP-2000. Havent checked the fuses on the amp, but the amp light is on, subwoofer moved free as always and doesnt make any scratch noises. I am using the stock ML navigation and i have a line out converter connected to where the old stock subwoofer used to be. When i can find some time where should i start? Could it be my RCA? Or line out that shorted when the blast of music happened. I have never had any problems with any of my setups so i dont really know where to start or how to trouble shoot. I am asking on here cause i dont know if my navi could be the cause.

On a side note how can change the volume preset to low again, i havent done it in 2 years
