Default Sazuka Blue Pearl Dipped GS300

Dont own the car anymore but i figured since there aren't many dipped GS i would share my old GS300 with you guys. The dip is a Sazuka Blue Pearl with a black base. Car was done by CB3 Customs in Texas.

Looks great!

Just curious, what's the purpose of the black base coat? Does colored plasti-dip need a primer or something?

^Was wondering that too. Why a base coat? Why black and not something else like white? Sorry total noob when it comes to paint jobs.

I have been thinking about painting my car a similar shade of blue after my widebody install. Never had seen the GS in that shade and now oddly enough two cars from Texas come out in that color over the last couple months. Looks good, just wish it was glossy.

looks good. i dont think a dip of any sorts is affected by its base coat because it sprays so thick. looks great. i too am a fan of gloss though/clear coat. i know there have been crazy advancements in dips nowadays.

Not 100% sure on the base coat or if it was needed since i dont know much about "dipping" or painting cars for that matter but i just told the shop the color i wanted and they did what they do best.

Thanks & yeah at first i wasn't a fan of dip but this was done with a real gun in paint booth and if i told people it was vinyl they would have believed me. I was very impressed

You need a certain number of coats of dip in order for it to be easy to remove. They typically lay down 1 or 2 coats of a base color like black because it's the cheapest product and you're not wasting money on the expensive stuff for the coats you don't see.

the outcome of plastidip always amazes me, looks good. I would have never have guess this was done from a gun and paint booth. Did it cover up blemishes on the bumpers i.e rock chips, scratches?

I'll let OP answer from his own experience. But, in general, very minor blemishes will be reduced by the dip. More major scratches and deep rock chips will still be visible, but they look "smoother"...if that makes sense.

The design is Vossen CV3 or CV3-R, but based on the center caps, I'd guess those are the STR replicas.
