Hi guys, just had a couple questions regarding a interior swap. Hoping someone can help me out.

I have a 2002 gs430 with tan interior +nav and ml. Found a great deal on full black interior.(dash,seats,door panels, carpet etc...) Only thing is the interior is from a 1998 gs400. So just wondering if I will run into any problems. Would be great if someone can let me know. Thanks!

If you have the center channel speaker in the dash, there isn't a hole for it in the 1998 dashboard. You will also need the newer (2001+) steering wheel and airbag, as the airbag was changed to a dual stage design and the steering wheel controls don't fit on the earlier steering wheel.

Also your A pillar cover from the older GS is different than the 01+ due to having curtain airbags. Not sure if it able to be modified to work.

The dash wire harness is tied and wired throughout the dash shell. You will have to remove yours and swap it into the 98. More time consuming than a 01+ interior swap.

I think i recall something about the power seat harness plugs being different also.

I swapped in 05 black interior into my 01 (replace the tan), and it was a huge project, time consuming, but easy. Only because it all swapped across direct.
