True... but let me expand and just say, if you take care of any vehicle, it will last for a very long time as well.

Damn that's at least 7 timing belt changes if he followed the scheduled maintenance. The cost to change them would be like having a high maintenance car over the years.

I googled and our engines are one of the top engines out there. I plan on keeping mine as a daily driver as long as I can. It has been good to be as I have to her. :P

In the GS the 4.0/4.3 is absolutely a killer. Only a few cars can beat it today in 2015. Smoothest motor I've ever experienced with that kind of performance on the street. Ridiculously reliable.

Was driving my GS400 with 4 passengers on 2-lane country roads this weekend. Was passing cars easily from 100-140KPH. This car is amazing.

And the amazing part is that it gets better as the speedo climbs. Doesn't feel the speed. Seen as high as 160 kph no problem. Could have done it all day. No increased wind roar, smooth ride that only gets better the faster you go.

The only thing is you attract too much attention from the pissed off tailgaters you leave behind you.

I agree, I miss the smoothness of my past GS400 and GS430 when comparing it to my current 2007 GS350. 300hp V6 doesn't feel as refined as the V8s. The 3.5 V6 is a great engine, sounds nice at high rev, but doesn't beat that V8 grumble.

At high speeds the 3GS is much more refined. Little wind noise, tighter handling and no 60 to 70 mph vibration that plagues nearly all 2GS. I planned on keeping my 2005 GS430 forever but have to say I've enjoy the 3GS more and I am glad I sold it.

Thanks for your thoughts. I do like the front 3/4 up to the C pillar on the 3GS. But unfortunately that's where the love ends

I thought they seemed to try to tell you it was a hatchback but then it turned out not to be a hatchback. I find it too heavy and the back end that feels weighed down.

The 2GS definitely has a "loosey goosey" feeling through high speed sweepers. I don't like that.

But the 1UZFE/3UZFE has one thing that its direct competition will never have: durability and engineering. Google E38 timing chain guide failure and ye shall see why used Bimmers are dirt cheap and used Lexii are holding their value.
