Default This was stuck on my Carpet!!!!

What in the world is this black gooey stuff that was stuck on my carpet right behind the accelerator pedal. I just peeled it off and it didn't adhere to the carpet in any way. Just peeled right off. Where does it go? I looked around and can't seem to locate where it originated from. LOL..it doesn't have any smell..... It's sort of like soft play dough.

It looks like dum dum, it's used around the thx valve on the evaporator for the a/c. It might of just fallen off and stuck there

What's "thx"? I thought all the AC stuff was on the passenger side. This was actually partially stuck to the back of the accelerator pedal.

I'd flush it down the toilet and wash my hands a few hundred times. Then never tell anyone you were touching it again.

Dum dum tape or Cork Tape is what is use to insulate your expansion valve which is just above the gas pedal on the interior firewall. It basically keeps the metal from acting like a cold brew in warm weather and dripping on your foot. Looks like it just fell off.

I didn't know the expansion valve was over there above the accelerator pedal. I just had $1300 worth of AC repair where they replaced the expansion valve. NOW...it's starting to make sense. The dum dum was stuck on the floor mat near the top a little to the left of the accelerator. Would I be able to get it back in place without removing the dash? Should I just take it back to the repair shop that did the AC repairs and ask them to replace it? I'm thinking they will just say it's no big deal, just throw it away and forget about it. Or they will take it back, pretend they replaced it and throw it away when I ain't looking...

I'd bring it back because it obviously wasn't wrapped correctly. I know our a/c's are expensive and with having paid for such a repair I'd want it as perfect as it can be. If you do take it back Its not hard to see if it was re wrapped correctly. I'll try and get a pic later so you can see what it should look like.
