Default CEL after installing k&n FIPK

So I installed the FIPK yesterday and test drove it afterwards. Everything ran fine and no CEL. My wife drove it to work and on her way back it threw a CEL. Didn't have a chance to run the codes (I don't have an OBD-II, sadly). So tonight I swapped back to the stock intake. MAF was cleaned prior to install and so was the throttle body. I also replaced spark plugs a week ago with brand new NGK. I have done plenty of research and a few guys say the code they got was the infamous p0171. All vacuum hoses were tight and brand new from oriellys. When I went to remove the bolts holding the MAF in the FIPK the brass nuts had disconnected from the intake and were a pain to get off... I have a fuel filter and new MAF being shipped as we speak. Any other ideas? Also I cleaned the filter on the K&N since I bought it used. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! I loved the throttle response and power, not to mention a mean growl under the hood when it was installed. I would hate to not reinstall it now... Thanks guys.

Also I disconnected the negative battery cable and pulled the efi fuse during install to reset the ecu so it remap and relearn the new amount of air the engine was receiving.

Unfortunately without the diagnostic trouble code(s) all you will be getting is guesses. If possible get a OBDII scanner and then put the intake back on. All you need is a super basic code reader like
 THIS THIS
or
THIS THIS
which are both under $20.

Will do after I re-install the intake. The hardware that came on the FIPK wasnot up to my standards being plastic and easily breakable after so many heat and cooling cycles, not to mention the brass "nuts" for the MAF just fell out while removing my MAF last night. I will get an OBDII reader in the mean time and if it throws a CEL again I will run the codes and let you know. Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping after the re-install there will be no CEL anymore. Do you know where each vacuum hose needs to be routed on the FIPK. I got to thinking last night and I ran the vacuum hoses as such. The small little one ran to in front of the MAF so did the breather line for that valve cover. The last vacuum line, which I believe is for the fuel breather, ran to behind the MAF closest to the throttle body. Do i have them in correct order? Of should I be routing them differently? Also This is for a 99 gs400
