Found a 99GS400 with 47K, Dealer wants $8,600...what to do?
Fellow CL members, I tracked down a 99GS400 with 47K, dealer won't budge off of $8,600. I know if I go thru with it that the car will need a timing belt service right away. Not sure what to do,
any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I would jump on it right away if it drives good. 47k miles is really low and to get a clean looking GS even with double or triple those miles you would have to pay around 4k anyway. I would buy it... I paid 12k for my 2001 430 about 4 years ago and it had 90k miles which was considered low. clean GS' are rare and people pay for them.

I am enjoying my 3GS, GS350 alot more than any 2GS so far. To me it is more modern looking and sleeker and keeps up with the current trends.
I had three 2GSs (GS300, GS400, GS430) over 10 years and they are out of my system for me to consider one even if it is a mint low mileage one.

Looks like someone snatched it already or "ROZ" bought it back
I will ALWAYS have great respect for the 2GS and give anyone a thumbs up if I see one stock in mint condition or done up tastefully. It will remain one of my all time favorite along with the BMW 540i within that era.

. I am the proud owner of one of the lowest mileage GS4s on the East Coast lol. Dealer wouldn't come off of $8,600 so I gave in. First thing on the agenda....new headrests and console armrest lol. If anyone wants to swap grey headrests and their initials are ROZ let me know. Thanks everyone for the advice on the car. Greatly appreciate it.
