Wait, can you take the rack completely apart? It's not the seals on the lines it's the seals internally. I have never taken apart a rack and Pinion and I know it takes special tools.

I honestly think it might just be easier to replace the entire steering rack.

I agree with that. Just replace the whole rack and be carful for cheap rebuilds.

Ok so i removed the rack. I took the whole rack to a steering repair shop. They took apart the whole rack and pinion and cleaned everything. There was gunk only on the piston surface. They installed the complete seal kit on the rack and control valve and even pressure tested it. I assembled the car put the oil. Cycled a couple times cold and even hot and took the car for a drive. It made absolutley no difference. Steering is still hard. Tomm im going back to that shop and let them pressure test the pump. U think that rebuilt pump doesnt put out the required pressure? Honestly the only time the steering was soft was when the car was on jack stands.

Not to sound dumb, but are you sure it isnt a suspension issue?

Yes I had quite a few pumps not work right out of the box, I never go with rebuilds, I only go OEM and would even go used with low mileage.

My friend had the same exact thing happen to him. He replaced the pump with no luck and ended up changing the steering rack. Changing the rack fixed it for him, i hope you can figure it out

i was speaking to a friend about the problem and he said right away its the hose. Once the pressure is tested ok from the pump. He brought it to my attention that the hose is moving. So u think its collapsing inside? Slight movement when parked. Im still gonna get the output pressure tested in the morning.

That is rare but it has happened in the past. I mean it's the cheapest option right? Go and give it a shot. If that doesn't work replace the pump again.

Movement from the hoses is not abnormal. If you want to verify integrity of the hose, remove it and blow air through it. If air flows freely, then the hose is likely ok. Is there any aeration to the fluid when the car is running?

A bad steering pressure sensor will cause the problem you describe.
