98 gs won't accelerate and hmm noise
Hi, I'm new here I have a 99 lexus gs 300 that won't accelerate. I put a scantool on it and it said throttle control motor, I bought one from the dealership and a tps sensor, put both on but the vsc lights, brake and cel are still on. I cranked the car and nothing has changed, sometimes if I put my foot on the gas while I'm cranking it, the engine will rev up for a minute and I will loose the pedal after that. Will it function right if I get someone to clear the codes or do I still have bigger problems.

First, though, I can tell you this much right here. As old as your GS is, it could be a lot more than just the throttle motor. Second, you may not have done the diagnosis correctly. When a code flashes, the correct way to analyze and deal with it is not to just knee-jerk replace the parts or sensors indicated....that doesn't always correct the problem. The correct way is to do the steps listed in the official Factory Repair Manual for that specific vehicle, engine, and code. It will give you a specific list of further steps to take to correct the problem. If you don't have the necessary tools/facilities at home to adequately do that procedure at home, you may have to take your car (or have it towed) to a qualified repair shop.
Last, I see you live in Virginia (as I do).....this is something that may (?) be necessary to resolve before your car will pass a Virginia safety and (in some parts of the state) emissions inspection.
