Default GS mods or alternate route

OK, I've had my GS for about six months now. The only mod that I have installed his son LS400 big brake kit. I have been hesitant about doing any mods because this is my daily driver. I'm debating on whether I should do a 2JZ-GTE swap in my GS or if I should just get an SC 300/400 to do a turbo LSX swap.
I have children, so I definitely need a sedan. At the same time I want something that will compete with BMW's M-line.
Opinions please. If I do get the SC, I may be inclined to take it to the track on occasion.
Mods please move this if I have posted in the wrong place. Thanks in advance.

When it comes to having consistent, reliable transportation, the safer route is to build an SC on the side while DD'ing the GS. However, that's going to be more expensive and you'll be stuck daily-ing a pretty boring car if your benchmark is an M3/M5.

If I were in your shoes, my ideal scenario would be a few bolt-on power adders and handling mods to wake the GS up for daily-driving duties. After that's done, I'd just drive it while building an LSx-swapped SC with a big hairdryer on it.

I see where you're going Mveale, thanks for the input. Honestly, if I'm going to build the SC I'm okay with the GS being stock. It's going to serve its purpose for comfortable, reliable transportation for family duty. I'd rather invest all my mod funds into the project build. My GS is the Sport Design trim, it's in great condition and only has 55,200 miles on it. Thanks again for the input.
