No dash lights and won't shift out of "Park"
Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen;
First post, glad I found you. Mom drives a 1999 GS 300 and is at stage of life where it is used infrequently. Last user was sis, and she didn't get door closed good so battery was dead. My brother went and had battery charged then re-installed it.
Car starts and runs just fine in the garage. NO dash lights or gauges work and cannot shift out of "Park". Don't know what else doesn't work. Idles just fine.
Fuses? Fusible Links?
I'm in town for the weekend and sure would like to get it running before I leave.
Tried to buy a Chilton's off the shelf today and had 3 strikes. Suggestions?
Thanks,
Chuck from Dallas in OKC.

Are your brake lights working when you push the brakes? The brake light switch deactivates the shift lock so that would be a quick test of that part. I would check all fuses as it sounds like a bad fuse.

Had this happen not long ago mine was bad fuse for the dash lights that was it after I went through the pain of replacing the brake switch above the pedal (it's a pain for someone my size to do) so pull your fuse under drivers idea dash and check it
