Unhappy My gs 400 is trippen plz help lol

So the other day I hooked up subs in my gs and the next day my battery was dead so I disconected my main amp wire from the battery and put anew optima in it and I was driving to California yesterday and I kept smelling rotten eggs so I pulled over and my battery was hissing and swelling so I put the old battery in it and to load on to the trailer but there's still a battery light on and now my brake lights arent working and when I got home the the battery was dead again any suggestions??

Have you check your alternator? Just a start.

Sounds like something pretty major is shorting out. Alternator would be a good place to start. Also check all your grounds, your battery terminals, etc.

I would check were the remote wire that hooks up to the amp is connected to. That's the one that turns the amp on and off.

I don't know how I completely forgot about the fact that you hooked up subs the other day. Let me change my advice...

The first place to start is to unplug the power wire to the amp and see if any problems persist. If they do, then it's a problem with your car's charging system that was probably intensified by the extra strain the stereo put on the charging system. Check the alternator, terminals, and all of your grounds.

If the problems go away, then you know the problem is isolated in your stereo system. Make sure that your power wire isn't shorting out on the firewall. My next guess would be that there's an internal problem with the amp.

Your battery is overcharging. Its possible your voltage regulator may have gone bad on the alternator.

As a side note, have you ever heard of punctuation?
