GS Overheated HELP!!!!
YESTERDAY I WAS PARKED WITH THE CAR ON AND A/C ON FOR LIKE 45 MINS THEN DROVE OFF I NOTICED MY CAR WAS OVERHEATING,GUAGE SPIKED UP!!!
AFTER LETTIG IT COOL OFF, I PREASSURED WASHED THE ENTIRE ENGINE BAY,
THEN LET IT DRY AND RE-FILLED THE RADIATOR
TURNED THE CAR BACK ON
LET THE ENG RUN FOR 30 MINS......
NO LEAKS
FANS WORKING PROPERLY
THERMOSTAT OPENING
NO OVERHEAT,
drove it later on that evening,
no overheat and no leaks.
what could have caused this?

You have an air bubble constantly forming in the coolant ducts. Did you run the heater on full blast when you refilled your radiator? That heater core carries like a pint of coolant. When you don't run the heater while refilling the radiator you run the risk of not completely filling your coolant system. The pump will eventually fill it however you still have inadequate amounts of coolant in your system. When you place the cap back on, you pressurize an improperly filled coolant system. That leads to air bubbles.

What I think and I am almost 100% sure, you not had almost nothing of coolant in your radiator and that was that overheating the engine and system. But, at your came back to fill the radiator and engine with coolant, now the car and the cool system works as has to be.

Any ideas what may have caused your car to overheat? Exact same thing happened to mine except I was driving home from work. I also refilled with coolant and it hasn't overheated as of yet. Was it just low on coolant or something else going on?

What I found out on this cars is the cap on the reserve coolant tank that start leak coolant just a little by little. I change it and also the 2 hoses in that tank too and my reserve tank still keep more coolant now. Change that cap and maybe the 2 hoses and see what happen with your system. Also, you can change the radiator cap.

From the dealer is the only way that you can found that cap and hose. Also, check that tank. That tank also leak coolant. I take out that part that also the 2 fans is acctact to the reserve coolant tank and reseal it. Look the black cover for of that tank for leak also.
