Default Still have P1354, replaced OCV

Hello.

I had a front oil seal replaced and the car was given back to me with "VSC" lights on, throwing P1354 code.

Replaced the passenger side OCV (VVT) with part# 15330-50011. There was a newer part# available (0F010) but I considered the older manufactured one might be more solid or the like.

I started the car after install and seemed to be working great, warning lights were out.
But went to drive it 10 min later and all is back...VSC lights and P1354 code.

The wiring clip tab seemed to have already been broken, which seems a common occurrence when removing them...it doesn't "click" in place or didn't need pried to get off. But I think lots of people are driving around with that situation.

Could there be any other causes to consider for the P1354 code?
Its the only code showing...no other misfire codes or like.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

John

I'm getting the same code. About a year and half ago I did replace the driver's side OCV which cleared out the CEL. This time around I am also getting P1351 and P1354 so I am not sure if I should just change out the passenger OCV or should I look at other stuff?

Well I puled out the passenger side OCV and cleaned with carb cleaner and brake cleaner. Put it back in reset the codes. No codes lasted about fifteen minutes and the P1354 is back.

Should I buy a new OCV?

Sure wish I knew the answer to that...I just put off dealing with it, but have to make something happen soon.
This all came up for me after having someone change the front oil seal. I then replaced the OCV ($75 or so), the warnings vanished for about 5 min, then back to where I was. It actually doesn't come on till about 10 seconds after starting the car (odd). Doesn't just stay on.
Now I have the P1351 as well (in addition to the 1354), wonder if that means its something with the "circuit", not just the valve? Oh, and also P0301 "cylinder 1 misfire" has appeared.

I did take car to a different place, after the front oil seal job, and paid them to correct the timing and look at what the other mechanic did ... they couldn't figure any other solution than to try buying another new OCV. Still haven't tried that yet, hate to pay for two and not be the problem.

Anyway! "I feel your pain".

Guys only use dealer oil filter, i have seen oil control valves code came on because the filter for the ocv was clogged by the oil filter/filter. It came apart . oil change is a must at regular interval.

Great info - many thanks!! Wow, hope the damage wasn't permanent. "Came apart" - geesh.
