Wonder if gsean400 is experiencing a grounding issue?

RUDYH how do i clean the idle air control? From what i read we dont have an idle air control valve and idle speed is controlled by the angle of the throttle plate
I'm sorry but I've never done it personally. I don't wrench my own cars. I've had idle problems on many cars in the past including an SC400 and cleaning the IAC has solved that. I have read on this forum people doing it and saying it's pretty easy. I guarantee you there are at least dozens of people here who've done it and can tell you.

My alternator pulley is pretty shiny, but i did just put it in so maybe the last owner had a slipping belt

A rebuilt alternator with a used pulley? Now I'm questioning the alternator. The company at the very least should have blasted it and painted the pulley if not replacing before selling.

Hey guys is there any possibility it could be my battery? Yesterday my battery checked out fine and i assumed the car has been starting slower due to the alternator not charging the battery well in drive (well for the past 7 months). I swapped it out today because the battery handle had cracked and it was still under warranty so i said why not.. I installed the new replacement battery and i sat in a parking lot for almost 20 mins with my high beams on, heated seats on, all dome lights on and blasting my 1000 rms system all while in drive and the battery light didnt come on... I then sat an additional 5 mins with the headlights off and that dropped the rpm into the 400-500 range and i sat there continuing to play music and the light didnt come on... Not convinced after all that i then decided to turn off the car.. I was pretty sure i just left myself stranded. I then started her up and she started up very fast.. I am still not convinced, but usually it would take me less then 2 mins of playing music with my stock stereo( no amp ) for the battery light to come on and if i were to turn the car off it would not start and i would have to get jumped. I got my eyes on the dash at all times and will wait a little longer before i say this was the fix. It is a new battery but i would think if my alternator wasnt charging the battery i would have at the very least drained the battery somewhat near a hard start

I've never experienced it, but people on here have experienced some of the strangest issues because of weak/dying batteries, this may be no different.

After swapping out the battery with my GS3 (purely just to see what would happen) it's been fine ever since.

Not to re-start a thread, but did the new battery solve your issue? I'm having similar issues. New battery, new alternator and something isn't right. Radio shuts off at night when slowing down (brakes applied) and comes back when I speed up.
