Default So the JDM headlights do have something different. Extra parking light. *update video

I just bought as pair of JDM Aristo HID headlights and have found that on these headlights there is an extra parking light which lights up the low beam housing as well.

The bulb points towards the crack surrounding the lowbeam dish, and shines through there. I have not got to install these yet as I am waiting to do a projector retrofit, but I have shined a flashlight through them. Thought it was a neat find, and haven't seen any differences mentioned (aside of aiming) between the USDM and JDM counterparts.

As you can see in this photo, the wires from the normal wedge parking light, join into this secondary parking light.

Cool find. Curious, why did you go with the Aristo heads, was it just a price thing?

I went Aristo because it was cheaper since no one wants them because they are aimed wrong. But that doesn't matter when retrofitting.

I could take some, but I don't think you will be able to see any difference from stock, since the light shines through the gap that is in between the reflector bowl and the housing. Maybe I could just take a video, probably would be easier.

I have had Aristo HID's in my car for over two years now and never has anyone flashed me because I was blinding them or anything. When I installed them I spent a good amount of time re-aiming the lights using all of the adjusters. I think I got them adjusted well enough that it is not intrusive to oncoming drivers. I went into an underground garage and pulled the car up near a bare wall and adjusted the beams until the light pattern was pretty much symmetric on both sides.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. Another spot for a little 194 bulb. Should help matching color inners to outers. I've thrown a small fortune trying out different LED parking lights to match low beams and visa versa lol

We only have the parking light in the high beam lenses, not the low beam lenses.

We also have this, if you look at the pictures and watch the video, you will see that there is not only the highbeam parking light in the corner that we all have, but also another parking light in the low beam reflector. This is what I was pointing out as in a difference within the JDM headlights compared to others.

As you can see in this photo, the low-beams are slightly illuminated as well.

Quick Reply: So the JDM headlights do have something different. Extra parking light.
