Default Navigation ECU remove

Hi

I don't use Navi in my GS430.
I'm using AC, Radio etc, but not Navigation.

Can I safety remove the Navigation ECU from the trunk?
I just would like to put something else in that place (tools or sth).

ok, I removed, and Radio, AC etc is working.

Buttons "Navi" and "Destination" are not working - so ok for me.

Mine was removed when I bought it. They did a crap job doing install. I'm going to just redo wiring to all locations and power it all by amps later. Sucks only having rear speakers but I'm working on more important stuff atm.

The Front Left speaker is tied to the Navi cuz thats where you get your turn-by-turn announcements. Its kinda weird how they totally re-directed to only work with Navi and not independently.. oh well Lexus engineers at work..

Why remove it? The navigation box isnt that big your not going to gain an incredible amount of room by removing it.. Yeah like quicke said its linked to the left speakers. My navi voice comes out the left side of my car.

I don't see a point in removing the navigation ecu anyway, but however on my car it was stolen before i bought the car. the front speakers are working and there are 2 jumpers installed on the plugs where the nav ecu was.

after removed, I had a space for: fire extinguisher and 2 reflective vests (we must have it in UE in our cars)

but, nevermind, Navi is in my trunk already.

ok finally did it, took the pictures some time ago already.

Actually i would be quite simple to just trace the wiring diagram and then find the colors and set jumpers accordingly.
