99 GS400 Headlight restoration
I know you Lexus gurus already know this, but I had to show someone. So, who better than you guys. I've always wet sanded and then used an abrasive paste. I used all my sandpaper, so I just tried this 3m stuff I had in my barn. Came out better than I thought, with just 10 mins on each side.
Then, I sealed it with some M-Seal. Tell me what you guys think.
Before
After
3m is pretty good

Very simple
1) Tape around headlights. With blue painters tape
2) Apply 4 pea sized drops onto pad
- Forgot to mention I had a 3m headlight kit from any parts store.
- Comes with hook & loop pad, fine grit sandpaper-which I was out of
-So All I used was the 3 inch foam pad on my 15yr old craftsman drill and the 3m stuff
3) Start slowly to apply paste, once I had it coated. I increased the speed to about half way
until the paste starts to clear or disappear
4) Then, wipe off any excess
VERY EASY
Don't forget to seal it with a paint sealer or wax

i mentioned this in other threads; but you must seal otherwise all your hardwork is going out the window.
After you seal, if you really want to solve the problem more permanantly, get PPF put over it.
Trust me; either you pay the $60-$100 to get PPF installed; or you have to redo your job again later.
Even if you seal with a liquid or spray, you're going to have to wax/re seal every so oftenoften.
No way is it going to be as protective as the actual physical layers of PPF.
