There are several common issues... best thing to do is read through the FAQ sticky. You'll find most of the issues along with the fixes. Then go into the suspension and performance threads. Lots of info just clicks away.
I'd say the #1 issue if lower ball joint failure #2 door lock actuators #3 servo motors... but then everyone always gets a bunch of codes and guesses at the fix instead of researching them. There isn't much about the GS that hasn't already been documented here. Good luck bro... just gotta geek out on the search feature for a couple hours.

Yep, door actuators and the ball joints are the big issues. I've heard that the ball joint issue was supposedly fixed starting with the 2001 model? Still best to have them regularly checked. My 02 GS3 just cracked 100k and the original ball joints are fine.

Aside from the suspension issues, servos, and door locks, the only other thing I had to deal with is the charcoal evap canister/lines needing to be replaced. The gas fumes are terrible when the tank is full. The headlights seem to get hazy a lot quicker than my other cars I have owned, but I don't know if that's just due to me being in SoCal where it barely rains. Besides that, the car has been pretty solid.

Ehhh I would probably just replace them anyway.. 55$ a side and a few hours of time once every 4-5 years is a bit better than possibly damaging your wheel, fender, brake lines, other suspension components, and possibly some wiring.

I second the ball joints and door actuator issues. The valve on the canister is just as likely as the canister to go bad. I would replace it first before spending money on the canister. Unless you've been topping off the tank when you fill up. If so, it probably is the canister.
