Just to be sure have some one try to start the car. You can watch the screw if it pops up or not. If it's not doing anything. Then I would disasble the pump assembly again and check everything over. Make sure the O rings are where they need to be and test the Pump with an Muliti meter for OHM 's specs. Double check everything in the assembly maybe you have fuel shooting out at the assembly and the pump isn't pumping it to the fuel line.

Could a person take the top hose off of the fuel pump and cover it to see if its sprays gas out?

Sorry to hog your thread. I figure why start another post at the same time with very similar issues.

I checked the end of my fuel rail and the screw raises as someone tries to start the car. Does that confirm that new pump and filter are not the issue?

Took off timing cover and my belt is still intact.

If it's raising then you should have fuel pressure. I would also suggest leaving the key to the on position for 5 min. Then try to start it. The only thing I can think that it's a immobilzer issue.
Your obviously getting fuel to the rails. I would check for spark next. Do you have a CEL light on? Check your coils are connected properly. Could also be a Cam sensor or Crank sensor gone bad.

I have a similar issue. Ever since I upgraded to a Aeromotive fuel pump for my engine swap my car runs out of gas when its only at a 1/4 tank

I was told it might be the transfer tube or the float. Any other ideas?

I tried leaving the key in the on position for 5 mins. Now my alarm light blinks with key in the ignition... You might be right about the immobilizer.

for fuel gauge issue, the level sensor maybe off.. mine wasn't working for a while..

Also if it's just cranking... just a thought, is your key functioning properly... sometimes, if the chip in your key isn't programmed right this same issue could happen, maybe try another key for your car just to check. Rare that this is issue but atleast rule it out.

I think to reset the immobilzer is to lock and unlock the drivers door twice with your key. After lock it again and check if your security light blinks again or stays off.

Another is to try the passenger door lock and unlock cycle twice with your key. Then try to start.

Putting the key in the ignition and to the "on" position but don't try and crank. Leave it in that position for 5 minutes, switch off and then try to start.

Went out this morning to test drive and it didn't start. I left it running yesterday and turned it back on a couple of times. Couldn't take it on the road yesterday I had my one month old didn't trust it. Back at it later

Fixed!!!!!!!!

So i pulled the new pump and looked at the old pump to see what i might be missing. On the old filter there was a little grommet that i didnt put on the new filter. Added that and re installed and the car fired right up.
