Default Which oil type? In Dubai 120 degrees .

Hi all, I can't find any 5w30 oil here in Dubai and I brought my gs4 98 from the states, the dealer sells 5w40 Lexus synthetic mineral oil or Dino 20w50 weight, yet the oil cap calls for 5w30, can I go for the 5w40? I thought its pretty thick, yet it's around 120 degrees during the day and 100 at night with 75% humidity! any recommendations thanks.

Yea they put 20w50 in the 2uz land cruisers, but being the uz motors have tight clearances I found that odd? Even the manuals in the motor of the land cruiser call for 20w50. Also the gs400 was only specifically made for the us market, all other countries got the gs300/430.the gs400 manual says 5w30 up to 100'dgrees

use the 5w40 if you must, it's not a big difference

I would keep the thinnest you can in still. Likely operating temps aren't much different than stateside. If all you can get is 5W40 that should be good. 0W40 would be better. Still probably only needs 0W30 or 0W20....
