Default Mysterious loose hose in the engine bay

I was changing my drivers side (RHD) O2 sensor and I noticed this little hose with clamp on it.
Next to it appears to be a pipe that it would fit but it looks like it never was in there. Or atleast it hasn't been there for a long time.

I also changed the front and rear sway bar bushings.
Everything went fine until I was tightening one of the rear sway bar bolts and it snapped.
Of course the other half got stuck in the locking nut so after fighting with it over an hour this is the end result:

I'm glad it did break from the weldings because I don't know what else I could have done with it.

It looks like that hose would be the one for that small pipe. Do you hear any vacuum leaks while the engine is idling?

That hose is supposed to go on the nipple in question. It's a vacuum hose from the airbox for the powersteering.

What does it actually do? I've noticed that when I cold start the engine (I have a habit to just sit and wait for the rpm's to get lower before I go on my way) the whole car sometimes shakes a bit. Not much but so that you can feel it.
Could that be a symptom caused by that loose hose?

Well anyways I'll have to get it back on asap.

A vacuum leak...
Unmetered air entering the motor, O2 sensors reading lean, ECU compensates with more gas, over time it will ruin the catalytic converters and waste fuel.

I've noticed that the car consumes more gas than before. Even after I replaced the broken O2 sensor.
I usually refuel $40 and I can drive about a week with that amount. Now I can drive only 4-5 days with that amount.

Thanks for your reply!

That's not an accurate day to measure MPG. I thought my MPG went down after doing all my o2 sensors, turned out it stayed exactly the same.

Of course it's not, but after I changed the previous O2 sensor I did notice a drop in consumption.
