Change plugs first then clean MAF look at condition of plugs (all) before and then put some miles on her and check at least 1 plug to see how she's running I would think you should get 17 MPG.
Any codes?

How long had this problem for? And how long have u had the car for? Check to see if your check eng light actually comes on when u turn the key.

Hook up a scantool to it sometimes the light wont come on but it will have stored codes..

The air filter is new, the air pressure is not. I'll check.

If the light does work & no codes found...

Do a "full tune-up"
( i suggest that if u cannot do everything yourself, and will take it to a shop do the easy stuff yourself first that way the shop won try to hustle u..._)

1-air filter
2-clean throttle body
3-replace spark plugs
4-change oil and add "engine-restore" (sold at auto zone)
5-change fuel filter
6-change pcv valve
7-clean maf sensor
8-clean fuel injectors................................

Just as i suspected sometimes people clear all codes from a car they are about to sell, in some cases even remove the light bulb from the check eng light .......
