GS300 Transmission Magnets question

I just pulled my trans pan on my car and these magnets are sitting there. Is this normal?

Yes, they collect the metal debris that floats in the transmission and prevent it from circulating through the system. They should be thoroughly cleaned off every time you drop the pan before you reinstall it.
