06' GS300 not as nice as 03'
Just test drove a 2006 GS300.
Not impressed at all.
There is this huge hump that sticks into your right leg as your driving and the overall feel of the car (not to mention the comfort of the seats) does not compare to the 03' I test drove earlier this week.
Thoughts?

That would explain the hump.
But... I also thought the seats and general layout was not as comfortable as the previous generation.

I like laid back... so maybe the 2GS is for me.
What 3GS would you recommend I test drive if I am looking for the most comfort?
Thanks

I was thinking about upgrading to a 3gs, but after driving w different 2006 awd 300s (very few if any rwds by me) I would either get a 430/460 or at least a 350. That being said, the even though the 06 is only a year younger than the newest 2nd GS, it doesn't feel nearly as dated.

The 2006 GS300 isn't Lexus's finer moments. I dunno why they ever produced that model and with that motor. Drive any other year and its just a big leap over it even the older GS300's drove better while producing less power.
If you like the 3rd Gen Gs bodystyle, I would look into GS430/460 and GS350. Any of them will surely surpass the GS300 from 2006.

I've heard of more issues with the 3GS, I looked at consumer reviews and there were so many negative ones, for 06 gs300 and 07 350, keep hearing the dash rattles and lexus can't seem to fix it, brakes wear out very fast, and there was some recall with the engine if I recall right? I really love the look of them and was considering saving for one but kinda got scared off, leaning towards 07 IS350 instead or perhaps a 2nd gen GS430

Generally i stay away from the first year of a redesign...there are always bugs that need to be worked out.. The 2GS had a long run for a body style so by '03 lexus had refined the GS about as much as you could to a pretty much perfect car...
